Hello QBall League Members!
First, a huge thank-you to everyone who showed up, played, cheered, clapped, gasped, and supported their favorite players during the playoffs. The energy in the room was amazing!!!
I also want to give Buffalo (Scandals 2) a big round of applause for being so generous with all the gifts he provided to the league—and for making sure the tables and ball sets were in top condition for the Winter 2026 Playoffs. Those tables were so clean, even all the balls looked like they had a spa day.
Everyone is still talking about the food. That Italian food cooked by Dean K. was absolutely delicious. At this point, I am convinced Dean is secretly a Nonna in disguise, because only a Nonna can make food that good and still somehow make you want a second plate after you are already full.
I also want to personally send a big hug to Coby W. (Scandals 2) to help sell those Break & Run Pot tickets. He did a great job!
Now, about the games: what a night we had for the Winter 2026 Playoffs finals! There was skill, pressure, and probably a few players silently negotiating with the pool gods (at least me).
We started with the individual final, where Pedro S. (Mona’s 2) took a strong 3–0 win against Reggie B. (Scandals 1). Pedro was, well… being Pedro, showing off his usual talented play, while Reggie (Scandals 1) just could not close the deal on any games.
On the team side, the excellent Scandals 2 team faced Scandals 1 who showed no mercy with a 6–1 win. But Scandals 2 did not go down quietly. Every game was a nail-biter—the kind where you forget to breathe until the 8-ball finally drops.
The Break & Run Pot was also a huge success, with a record number of tickets sold over the three playoff nights for a total of $864.00. That gave the winner a chance to earn $108.00 per ball made. Luckily for Ahmed (Scandals 1), his number was drawn, and he sank 5 balls for another record amount of $540.00 given to a player since we started the B&R Pot! Not bad for a few shots—some people work all week for less excitement. And for the rest of the money in the pot, we drew 5 tickets that made 5 winners of $65.00 each.
We also had a trophy for the MOST IMPROVED PLAYER to give away. And for this season, David H. (Ramrod 2) had all the rights to put his hands on that MIP trophy with the great season he had! Good job David!
A new trophy category was made this season: The “GOAT” (greatest of all time) trophy. This is to honor, celebrate or recognize a member of our league with any specific skills, ability to make anyone feel good, best coach, best teammate, anything that makes you think this teammate or league member needs to be recognized for whatever he is. I will ask you all the league members to suggest who you think should be the next GOAT player by saying his or her name and the reason why you are suggesting this person during the season for. The one that will be suggested the most will receive the trophy. For this first edition of the GOAT trophy, I have chosen Walter L. (Mona’s 2) for his most stylish presence at the table and his contagious laugh that put a smile on everyone’s face. Please Walter, don’t change a bit! We love you the way you are! In fact, we need more people like you!
